 | Perry S. Binder, M.D. Perry Binder, M.D. is Board Certified Ophthalmologist and Founder of Gordon Binder Vision Institute in San Diego, California. Dr. Binder received his Medical Degree from Northwestern University School of Medicine and completed his Residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Southern California. In addition he received Fellowship training in Corneal Surgery at the University of Florida. Dr. Binder holds an academic title of Associate Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of California-San Diego.
He is world recognized as an international lecturer, surgeon and researcher in Laser Eye Surgery including LASIK, Custom LASIK, Intra LASIK and other types of Lasik Eye Surgery. He has been a member of the Editorial Board of 14 Journals and published over 150 scientific articles in the fields of Laser Eye Surgery, LASIK, Custom LASIK , Intra LASIK and Refractive Surgery. He was twice elected to Town and Country Magazine’s list of the top physicians in America and was listed by Good Housekeeping as one of the top 400 Doctors in America. Dr. Binder is known as an authority in Laser Eye Surgery including LASIK and Custom Lasik Eye Surgery refractive surgery procedures. He has lectured in 25 countries and 38 states. He has served as a consultant for 20 ophthalmic industry companies, including the solid state excimer laser eye surgery company Novatec, Inc. and has been a clinical investigator for the excimer laser eye surgery companies, VISX, Inc., Summit Technology, Inc., Alcon, Inc. and Intralase, Inc. a company manufacturing the laser that creates the flap for the LASIK procedure. He is the Co-Medical Director for Intralase and is the Medical Director for a San Diego based company that manufactures wavefront-corrected spectacles (Ophthonix, Inc.) He is an experienced excimer laser LASIK surgeon performing all forms of excimer laser eye surgery with most laser platforms. Dr. Binder performed the first keratomileusis procedure in San Diego in 1980 making him one of the first ophthalmologists to perform refractive eye surgery in the United States. Through his laboratory and clinical expertise, he has helped develop or improved upon all current refractive surgical procedures including excimer laser eye surgery, laser assisted in-situ keratomileusis (LASIK), astigmatic keratotomy, and the Holmium: YAG laser. He holds several United States and International patents for ophthalmic surgery devices. He is the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award for Refractive Surgery, presented by the International Society of Refractive Surgeons.

David Geffen, O.D. received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from University of California, Los Angeles, and his Doctor of Optometry from University of California Berkeley School of Optometry. He was in private practice in La Jolla from 1982 to 1994 before joining Gordon Binder & Weiss Vision Institute, a group practice with Michael Gordon, M.D., Perry S. Binder, M.D. and Jack L. Weiss, M.D., F.A.C.S. Dr. Geffen specializes in family eye care, contact lenses, low vision and refractive surgery consultation. Dr. Geffen is nationally known for his clinical research on contact lens products, participating in various studies for Bausch & Lomb, Johnson & Johnson, Biocompatibles, Allergan, Ciba and other contact lens manufacturers. He is a prominent speaker on refractive surgery and contact lens compliance issues, as well as specialty lens designs. Dr. Geffen has published many articles on contact lenses and refractive surgery and is past contributing editor to Contact Lens Spectrum and Optometry Today. He is past director of Low Vision Services, Mericos Eye Institute at Scripps Hospital. Dr. Geffen's services include comprehensive eye examinations for glasses and contact lenses, low vision evaluations and refractive surgery co-management. Contact lenses and glasses are available through Gordon Binder & Weiss Vision Institute, including the most technologically advanced disposable and bifocal contact lenses and eyeglasses.

 | Michael Gordon, M.D. Michael Gordon, M.D. is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist and a Founder of the Gordon Binder Vision Institute in San Diego, California where he performs Laser Eye Surgery including LASIK, Custom Lasik, Intra LASIK and other types of specialized types of Lasik Eye Surgery.
Dr. Gordon received his Medical Degree from the State University of New York-Buffalo, School of Medicine and completed his Residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Colorado Medical Center. In addition he received Fellowship training in Corneal and External Diseases at the University of California-San Diego.
Dr. Gordon was the first LASIK Surgeon in the United States to use the Summit Excimer Laser to correct nearsightedness and is the only LASIK Surgeon to have participated in the development of the Excimer Laser Eye Surgery through participation in all phases of FDA Clinical Trials.
In keeping with his commitment to the development of advanced Lasik Eye Surgery procedures Dr. Gordon performed the first all laser High Definition Wavefront-Guided Laser Eye Surgery procedure in the world in 2003.
He is recognized as a worldwide authority in the field of refractive surgery for his contributions, research, teaching and clinical experience in LASIK, Custom LASIK, Intra LASIK and other Lasik Eye Surgery procedures.

 | Jack Weiss, M.D. Jack L. Weiss, M.D. is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist who performs Laser Eye Surgery including LASIK, Custom LASIK, Intra LASIK and other Lasik Eye Surgery procedures. He holds the academic title of Assistant Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of California-San Diego. Dr. Weiss received his Medical Degree with honors from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. He completed his Residency in Ophthalmology at the University of California-San Diego and a Fellowship in Cataract, Refractive and Corneal Surgery at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Weiss has served as a Consultant in Corneal Diseases and Surgery United States Navy and has been a Clinical Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Albany Medical College, Columbia University School of Medicine and the University of Minnesota School of Medicine.
Since returning to private practice in San Diego, California in 1982, Dr. Weiss has served as the President of the San Diego Eye Bank, as well as Chief of Ophthalmology for Scripps Encinitas Hospital, Sharp Memorial Hospital and Sharp Rees-Stealy Medical Group.
Dr. Weiss has received the award for the Outstanding Research presentation at from the American Academy of Ophthalmology and has published numerous scientific articles and lectured extensively throughout the United States. Dr. Weiss produced a teaching video with the American Academy of Ophthalmology to train eye surgeons to performs fer anesthetic techniques for cataract surgery.He limits his practice to Advanced Cataract Surgery, Lens Implantation, Lens Replacement Surgery as well as Laser Eye Surery procedures including LASIK, Custom LASIK, Intra LASIK and other Lasik Eye Surgery techniques.
